About the Role
In this role, you will manage a varied and interesting caseload across residential, commercial, and farm property transactions, including sales, purchases, and land restructures. You will also gain exposure to the unique and rewarding area of retirement village contracts and operational matters. You will work closely with the Director, who will provide you with guidance, together with a team of two paralegals. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, takes pride in precision, and delivers outstanding client service from start to finish.

We are a boutique law firm that specializes in succession planning, related property law, retirement living, farm succession, wills, powers of attorney and deceased estates. We are looking for an experienced lawyer (minimum 3 years PQE (or comparable) experience in property law) who can provide insightful legal counsel and ensure seamless operations across all property matters.

What You’ll Be Doing
Conveyancing Expertise
Managing end-to-end conveyancing matters, including due diligence, contract drafting and review, settlements (PEXA experience essential), and post-settlement requirements
Handling residential, commercial, and rural property transactions with confidence and care.

Trusted Client Advice
Reviewing contracts of sale and providing clear, practical, and unbiased advice.
Explaining legal processes in a way that reassures and empowers clients

Retirement Village Work
Assisting with and managing retirement village operator contract processes.
Gaining insight into village operational and compliance matters

File & Workflow Management
Opening, maintaining, and organising files with exceptional attention to detail.
Proactively managing tasks, deadlines, and diarising key dates.
Keeping the principal lawyer informed and up to date.
Autonomy & Problem Solving.
Working independently with minimal supervision.
Taking ownership of challenges and finding practical solutions.
Contributing to the development and improvement of systems and processes.
